No time to cook? Healthy eating costs too much? Then the Healthy Family Meals Cookbook is your kitchen saviour.
Wave bye-bye to slaving away in the kitchen for hours on end. Our affordable recipes will give you the ultimate bang for your nutritional buck while also keeping those hard to please eaters happy. Oh, did we mention all recipes cost $5 or less per serve? Yup, you read that right. If you're looking for a way to cut costs, time and still be able to provide your loved one's nutritionally-dense and sugar-free meals...this is the cookbook for you.
"Honestly, cooking shouldn't be fancy and expensive. It should have maximum flavour and flow... Mum didn't cook fancy nor expensive food. It was all about economy - of flavour, time and dollars. She'd use budget cuts of meat, make everything in the one big old cast-iron pot, bulk things out with starchy veggies and ensure we had three serves of greens with every meal. These principles, in many ways, guide this book."

I'm really happy with my purchase....cooked a few meals the first week and they were all a hit and easy for a working mum. We had some beef cubes that nobody had loved in other meals but everyone raved about it in the Easy Beef Casserole.

Wonderful recipes and ideas.

The recipes look relatively easy to prepare and very "doable" in my context. I have made some of the recipes already and I am happy with the results. I believe that they have the potential to become "classics" in my kitchen.

The book has really taught me how to save and store food in the fridge and freezer. It also shows the serving sizes so you know your portions. So far I've tried the slow cooked pork shoulder and it is absolutely DIVINE. I love this book! Easy to follow recipes, nothing expensive. All tasty!

I think the book is really good - I haven't cooked all the recipes - only one thing I feel it would be useful if it had a recipe index to save time - contents list helpful but recipes not listed - otherwise like all Sarah's books very useful with tips and ideas for freezing, cooking for one etc - looking forward to Food and Wine show :)

I grabbed a few books from the IQS site to help plan meals that I could prep in advance and transport easily. I work full time and have a hungry 17 year old and a couple of twenty year old's to feed. I found plenty of great family meals including some snacks and treats to stash away in the freezer. The recipes I've tried so far have all worked out exactly as stated. I particularly like the fact that Sarah is not wasteful and the contents of my fridge and cupboards have been rationalised.

While this book is good, I feel that it is very light on with the dessert section - only 2 recipes and therefore it is limited.
